With many employers reporting difficulty in finding enough workers to hire, a number of states plan to end the $300 weekly federal unemployment benefits next month.
That list includes Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, South Carolina, and Tennessee - all Republican-led states that have announced plans to end the program sometime in June.
According to the U.S. Labor Department, the U.S. had 8.1 million job openings in March but hired just 6 million workers - despite nearly 10 million Americans claiming to be looking for work
