Hyundai is recalling more than 239,000 vehicles in the US due to exploding seatbelts that have already caused three injuries.
The seat belt's pretensioners, or the mechanism that tightens the belt in preparation for a crash, can explode on deployment and send shrapnel flying.
The recall includes 2019-2022 Accents, 2021-2023 Elantras, and 2021-2022 Elantra hybrid electric vehicles.
If your Hyundai is a part of the recall, you can take it to a Hyundai dealership where the belts will be fixed free of charge.
