A pilot is taking responsibility for a forbidden Red Bull plane swapping stunt that went wrong.
Luke Aikins and another pilot tried switching single-engine planes while both aircraft descended. One plane crashed near Phoenix, Arizona with the pilot parachuting to safety. The other pilot managed to regain control of the other plane.
Aikins admitted last week that the FAA denied him an exemption from having to wear safety belts two days before the botched Red Bull stunt.
Red Bull says it will continue to work with Aikins.
