Two of the three people shot at the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas Wednesday (September 24) morning have died, an ICE spokesperson confirmed via NBC News. The third victim is reported to be hospitalized.
The three people shot didn't include the shooter, who officials confirmed died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All three of the victims were reported to be detainees and no ICE agents experienced injuries during the incident.

Three people were shot during an incident at a U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas Wednesday (September 24) morning, an ICE spokesperson confirmed to NBC News.
The suspected shooter was reported to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after opening fire. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the shooting in a post shared on her X account Wednesday morning.
"There was a shooting this morning at the Dallas @ICEgov Detention Facility. Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities. The shooter is deceased by a self-inflicted gun shot wound. While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop. Please pray for the victims and their families," Noem wrote.
FBI agents are reportedly responding to the facility, which is located near I-35 and Empire Central, while dozens of police units were also dispatched at around 7:00 a.m. local time, KXAS reports. Officers at the scene told KXAS that they weren't sure if the situation was safe yet as of 8:00 a.m. local time.
Officials were reportedly diverting traffic and others away from the area of the scene Wednesday morning. Vice President JD Vance offered prayers in a post shared on his X account following news of the shooting.
"The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop. I'm praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families," Vance wrote.
It wasn't immediately clear whether ICE agents, detainees, or both were wounded as of Wednesday morning.
