Whatâs happening?
An âinclusionaryâ trend in some European schools seems to be spreading in the U.S. âShould schools ban kids from having best friends?â a piece published by U.S. News & World Report asked earlier this week.
âA focus on having best friends certainly indicates thereâs an unspoken ranking system; and where there is a ranking system, there are problems,â psychologist Barbara Greenberg wrote in the article.

The argument is that kids are learning to exclude each other by having a âbest friendâ and that they should instead be encouraged to have a larger social circle and be âmore inclusive and less judgmental.â

âThis is crazy town,â Glenn said on todayâs show. âDoes inclusiveness just keep going until our kids in a classroom are chained together all day? That way no one is ever left out.â
