The University of Hawaii Board of Regents will vote next week on naming David Lassner as interim president for the school.  Lassner is currently the school's vice president for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.  The vote will come during a special board meeting on July 30th. If approved, Lassner will take over September 1. His annual salary will be about $325,000. He replaces M.R.C. Greenwood who announced in May she would retire at the end of August. She'll be on unpaid leave for a year, then come back to join the faculty at the John A. Burns School of Medicine with an annual salary of $294,000, making her the highest-paid professor at the medical school.
