University of Hawaii athletics director Ben Jay has suffered complications after he was injured breaking up a fight at the UH West Virginia women's basketball game Sunday night.  The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports that the UH confirmed Jay had a CT scan which revealed "transverse process fractures" in Jay's lumbar region (L1, L2 and L3) and bleeding around one of his kidneys. He was admitted to Straub Clinic and Hospital Monday night and is expected to be discharged Tuesday afternoon. The fight broke out directly behind the West Virginia bench before the trophy presentation for the Rainbow Wahine Classic.  Jay got hurt attempting to diffuse the situation.
