Trial continues today for a man accused of raping and strangling an 81-year-old woman in her senior complex apartment in 1989.  Fifty-two-year-old Gerald Austin was 28 when the murder of Edith Skinner happened. In opening arguments yesterday, prosecutors said DNA evidence proves Austin had sex with Skinner and strangled her. His public defender said the evidence only shows there was sexual contact, but not that Austin killed Skinner.
