A 71-year-old Waipahu man, arrested earlier this week in connection with the Sunday stabbing death of a 42-year-old man in Waipahu, was released from custody at about 5 p.m. Friday, pending further investigation.  The victim, Marlo Basuel, got into an argument with two men at a party and one man stabbed Basuel several times, then fled.  Basuel died later at the hospital.  The 71-year-old suspect was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree murder, but released without being charged.  No one else was arrested. The investigation continues.
