The state Ethics Commission found there were no ethics violations in the awarding of three Board of Water Supply Contracts. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser is reporting the Commission, however, is asking the city auditor to look into serious problems at the agency. Two contracts were awarded to a company whose co-owner recently left BWS and a third contract was issued to his former employer. One of the contracts is connected to the agency’s problems involving billing and customer service, in which a majority of customers received incorrect bills that caused an overload to BWS’s complaint lines.
