A former Honolulu police major facing federal extortion charges changed his plea today to guilty. Carlton Nishimura reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. He pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his disclosure of a federal task force investigation. He also admitted to filing a false tax return. He failed to report at least $9,000 in income that was not derived from his employment with the Honolulu Police. He'll be sentenced October 17th.
