U.S. Senator Brian Schatz announced today the release of more than $236 million in federal funds for the Honolulu rail transit project. The funding will be used to continue building Hawaii's first light rail system. Schatz said that after 40 years in the making, the rail project is now quickly progressing and he'll continue to work towards making a rail system in Hawaii a reality.
