A kayaker had to be rescued this morning off Black Point in East Honolulu. Fire Captain Carlton Yamada says the distress call came in just after 9:30 a.m. The man got into trouble off Black Point in East Honolulu and had to be helped by Ocean Safety personnel. He was separated from his kayak about 200 yards from the shore. Ocean Safety rescue personnel were able to retrieve the craft and return it to the kayaker 30 minutes later. He was not injured.
