Governor Neil Abercrombie Friday announced the appointment of Richard P. Creagan, M.D. to the state House of Representatives for Hawaii’s Fifth Representative District. The seat was recently vacated by Representative Denny Coffman, who resigned to move to the mainland to spend time with his daughter, who is facing a medical issue. Creagan's appointment is effective immediately and for the balance of the term. Governor Abercrombie said Creagan's "diverse experience as a physician, researcher, farmer, Peace Corps volunteer and educator will contribute greatly to his service to the people of Hawaii."
