The former principal of August Ahrens Elementary School in Waipahu has been charged with tampering with a government record.  The Attorney General’s office says 69-year-old Florentina Smith will be arraigned Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Ewa District Court.  Tampering with a government record happens when someone knowingly and falsely makes, completes or alters, or knowingly makes a false entry into a written government record.  That's a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and/or a 2-thousand-dollar fine.
