Beginning Monday, fees for processing certain city permits administered by the Department of Planning and Permitting will go up. Mayor Kirk Caldwell says this is the first fee increase in 10 years, and is intended to recover a greater share of the costs related to the processing and administering of applications related to zoning, engineering, building and other land use permits. The higher fees will also increase efficiency and processing of permit applications. New fees will also be charged for permit reviews and processing that until now have been done for free.
