Classes Resume One Day After Shots Fired

Classes resumed at Roosevelt High School Wednesday, one day after a 17-year-old boy attacked three police officers and was shot in the hand on campus.  He remains in stable condition and faces three counts of first-degree attempted murder.  Extra counselors were on campus assisting students.  Meanwhile, the boy had a long juvenile record, including resisting arrest and theft. His mother told Hawaii News Now that her son had been diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder and had run away from home on numerous occasions.  He also escaped from various detention centers and spent time in the Hale Kipa shelter for at-risk youth in the past two weeks.
